PDF Character Encoding - Netbeans Jasper iReport Plugin

PDF Character Encoding - Netbeans Jasper iReport Plugin

I am using Netbeans (7.3.1) with iReport plugin. My database is Oracle 10g
(character set = windows-1253 EL8MSWIN1253). When I create a simple report
in netbeans the preview button displays the report as expected. However
when I deploy and print this report to PDF, the Greek characters of the
Report are not displayed. I have tried Font Extensions and they do not
work.That is, when I select/browse the respective font and when I click on
the NEXT button to proceed nothing happens.
Any ideas?
